Shortly after Shawn was lost, a random compulsion to search for pictures on the web in the middle of the night resulted in this picture being found on Flickr.  Talk about being guided!  The pictures were taken by a photographer/tourist visiting from the east coast who happened to take several photographs the same time Shawn was in the water.  We were able to verify the accuracy of the time on the camera.

At 11:56, 20 minutes after trying unsuccessfully to climb up the cave wall to safety and after Rob took a picture of Shawn clinging to the cave wall, a tourist took a picture from the restaurant overlooking the cave.  Other than a fisherman to the left, this picture does not seem to show anything but the ocean at high tide.  A closer look at the area to the right shows...

Same picture blown up a bit

Right behind the wave near the cave there is clearly something in the water at the surface.  There is also a bird overhead showing interest.

Same picture blown up more with color enhancement
Shawn had black hair and was wearing a black jacket.

This picture was taken at 11:56 AM, March 29th.  There were people around and it seems Shawn's drowning went unnoticed.

The coast guard received a call from Rob's sister at 6:45 PM on March 30th, almost 31 hours later. A brief search was conducted on March 31st.

Shawn's remains have not been recovered.
